A note to all our supporters and followers.

Firstly, we’d like to thank you, our followers and supporters, for helping us make Pawprints a great success since we opened in 2018. In the last 5 years or so, we’ve rehabilitated and released hundreds of hedgehogs, as well as treating many other species.

In 2021 we established Wirral Fox Rescue, a specialist fox unit within Pawprints that runs alongside our other work. This has been hugely successful.

We now find that due to national media coverage, hedgehogs are well-served for rescue, rehabilitation and release. There are several local alternatives to Pawprints. However, we still house the only specialist fox unit in the area and feel that our full resources are best used for the benefit of foxes. We still have hibernating hedgehogs in the unit which will be released in the Spring.

We have applied to the Charity Commission to formally change our name to Wirral Fox Rescue and have submitted revised Charity Objectives for their consideration. Once this is complete, we will launch a new website and social media presence to reflect the change of emphasis.

Thank you again for your support and we will keep you posted.
